The
OC Red and White Represent.
We rolled down Chapman in up into the foothills to check
out the Freed'em Party at Irvine Lake. If you click
"On-the-Road" above you will see an article
on Silverado Canyon. Irvine Lake is nestled in the north
end of the canyon surrounded by rolling chapparel dotted
with manzanita. The party was just getting underway
when we rolled in.
The
parking was a bit whacked when they made a row of three.
I hoped they wouldn't make it four and we won't be able
to get out. Our plan was to stay a while go for a ride
through the canyon and roll back a bit later.
Simms
had their big trailer right there in the main causeway
and had it lined with 20 of his finest creations. A
few yards later they were setting up the Metal Mulisha
sport bike stunt show. And, a couple more yards along
the bank of the lake was the Custom Car-Show. A small
but representative showing. One Rat Rod Truck I saw
just the day before at the LA Roadsters Show. Check
out those pics at www.Car-Shows.com.
I
am not sure what warm-up band was playin' but they rocked
the lawn area pretty hard. All the young chicks were
hangin' out there watching the band. The featuring act
was TSOL.
There
was a booth for the Devil Dolls Motorcycle Club. I spoke
with a couple of agents and found that they are doing
a fundraiser selling ads for their 2006 calendar. The
donations are tax deductible and if you would like to
get more info call their NorCal number at 415-420-0630
or visit their website www.westcoastdevildolls.com.
The
flyer advertised that Sonny Barger would be there signing
his books. We didn't stay long enough to see him. If
any of you would like to write in your review of the
party I will post it here.
Anyways,
check out the pics of the bikes, people and environment.
As for our ride we ended up riding through Ortega, down
past Temecula and through highway 76 over to Oceanside
and up the coast home a good 150 mile ride.
