GARAGE TOURS:
Uncle Micks Place

Nick visits Uncle Mick. "The Car Guy"

Everybody knows someone like my friend Tom "Mick" Harmon. He’s the guy that lives, breathes and sleeps "cars". I know that Mick has other interests like his lady friend Shirley and Planes and NASCAR, oops there is another car reference. He also loves to e-mail bad jokes. He seems to have about a million friends.

He has set up the home he has lived in for 54 years to cater to his car world. Unfortunately when they built houses back them, they only gave you a 1 car garage, but Mick has made the best of what he has. Who else has a tent in the back yard that holds 2 cars? Next to it there is a concrete pad that holds a car lift where he stores one more car. While driving between the House and the Garage on the narrow Patio you will pass the mural that he had painted on the side of the garage. This mural by Rose Lopez is about cars on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It includes his 63 Falcon convertible, Skip and Theresa’s 55 Chevy, Bernard & Linda’s 57 Chevy wagon, Brandie’s Plymouth, Joe Telles’s 1957 Ranchero and some woodies for the beach effect.
