BIKE-SHOWS.com's
HIWAZE®
Temecula
and Hiway 76
We
get there from rolling up and over the killer
Ortega Hwy (74) from San Juan Capistrano, get
a start at the Swallows Inn right there next
to the mission and across from El Adobe which
was the Old West Jailhouse.
You
get through some good twistys as you cross the
OC and Riverside County line. Just before the
peak you can stop at Hells Kitchen on the right
side. It's in a sleepy little town that sells
all kinds of beef jerky. At Hells Kitchen the
salad bar is in an iced coffin. Out back theres
a great little gazebo haning over the creek.
Just
on the other side of the peak there is a view
point overlooking Lake Elsinore and the rice
burners like to gather at the Lookout Cafe.
Roll
down the steep back-side and you get to the
city of Lake Elsinore. Don't bother going to
the Bikini Bar, that place is a sausage party.
Not a chick in site when we were there on a
nice Sunday afternoon.
The
15 frwy is nearing an end from the long ride
out of Las Vegas and we take a 7 mile jaunt
south and exit in Old Town Temecula. Nice roll
through the redeveloped ol' western town of
Temecula. I first found this city at the Temecula
Rod Run, covering it for Car-Shows.com. If you're
into hot rods check it out at www.car-shows.com
We
cruise on through keeping the pipes from barking
too loud and head south some more on the 15
till we get to Hwy 76. It's a neat little road
going through some farmland before reaching
Oceanside.
From
Oceanside we haul ass up the 5 through Camp
Pendleton and the secondary border check before
rolling along the coast in Orange County and
home.
You'll
see by the pics, I followed my boy Billy and
one of his bitches. See more of Billy's Bitches
HERE.
